The Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC), a project that includes the construction and complete out fitting of new facilities for the National Library of Greece (NLG) and the Greek National Opera (GNO), as well as the creation of the 170,000 m² Stavros Niarchos Park, with a budget of €566,000,000, is one of the largest construction projects in recent Greek history, and one of the most important civic (cultural/educational) projects ever undertaken in the country.
Designed by architectural firm Renzo Piano Building Workshop, and constructed by Salini Impregilo-Terna JV, the SNFCC is a donation by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF).
EB/Architects have been participating in all the stages of this remarkable project:
In the Design Stage they have provided BIM and Revit consulting services to the executive Architect (BETAPLAN SA) and they have also contributed to the preparation of the Construction Details package.
In the Tender Stage, EB/Architects have assisted Bouygues-J&P JV to the preparation of their tender as Architectural and BIM Consultants.
In the Construction Stage, EB/Architects-Elytron JV was been responsible for the development of the IFC drawings at the level of detail that was needed for the execution of works, and for producing all the related builders’ works and shop drawings deliverables.
EB/Architects managed the overall BIM implementation to the construction process, including clash detection and spatial coordination workflows, and production of the architectural construction and shop drawings deliverables, exported from the modeling environment.
Included in the services provided by EB/Architects to the Contractor’s JV has been the preparation of a comprehensive BIM implementation strategy for the Operation and Maintenance phase of the project.
